Math 6(3) Notes and Homework

The definition of a math problem is a problem where the path to the solution has not yet been figured out.

With this in mind, prepare yourselves to be mathematicians. I am not going to tell you exactly how to solve every problem ahead of time. Struggle strengthens minds. When I give you a reading assignment or a challenge problem it is your responsibility to make an effort, on your own, to struggle through the assigned task. Try your best to investigate and explore.

To help you through the challenges of the year you will be using Khan Academy to support you on any skills that you are unfamiliar with. It is your responsibility to register with Khan, link appropriately to me as your teacher, and complete a minimum of 60 minutes of practice per week. You will be prioritizing Grade 6 standards. You should use this resource along with your notes sections in the CPM text to help you through your math problems.

You should also familiarize yourself with the resources offered by CPM (College Preparatory Mathematics). This is the math program that we will be using this year.
